Sisters

Some ideas spring from my observations of the world. As I was standing on an escalator, the little girl in front of me was lost in her thoughts. Her face was resting on the handrail and reflected itself in a mirror. For an brief moment, I believed I was seeing her twin sister. This led me to reflect upon the notion of twinship and then more generally, that of sisterhood. Faces which ressemble each other and that one may sometimes mistake for one another. And beyond the mere physical appearance, how does one live with a person with whom one shares so many common points and yet from whom one keeps distinguishing oneself through the years.

Photographing sisters is being able to combine two, three or four beings whose personal narrative otherwise prevails upon the one they share.
