Making a portrait in a natural setting means adding a new element to a prexisting and independent place and establishing a relationship between the model and the setting in which they are photographed. A space is not a simple pictorial element but a character of its own. A specific place can initiate a photo session or even a whole series. Whether it be a park, a hill, a city, a café or an apartment, this space takes part in the exchanges between the model and photographer who converse in it.
